ajaz quraishi, sandy martinThe Lakeland United Way's greatest supporter over the years unquestionably has been Imperial Oil. The company, as well as its employees, have continually showed great interest in the well-being and improvement of the community. The company has partnered with the Lakeland United Way on a number of projects over the years. As well, Imperial Oil's 2008 donation of over $95,000 is a prime example of Imperial's generosity and commitment to the entire region.

Alberta MLA Denis Ducharme with Ajaz QuraishiFor eight years Bonnyville/Cold Lake MLA Denis Ducharme lent his name to his name to one of the Lakeland area's most popular fundraisers - the annual MLA Golf Classic. Denis proved he might not be the best out on the greens, but his commitment to the betterment of the entire community is second to none. Following his retirement in 2008, new MLA Genia Leskiw began carrying on the tradition, raising $23,944 that year alone!

Duff Sullivan and Ajaz QuraishiThe men and women that make up CFB Cold Lake have demonstrated their commitment to community improvement over the years, making untold thousands in donations to the Lakeland United Way through the 4 Wing Charities. Likewise, the MFRC (Military Family Resource Centre) and other Base charities have received funding from the United Way.

The newspaper's tireless efforts over the years in support of everything the Lakeland United Way does is testament to their commitment to partnering a better community.
