Formed in 1986, the Lakeland United Way initially served the Bonnyville/Cold Lake region of Alberta, and now has expanded to include the Jackfish Lake and St Paul/Lac La Biche regions - and plays an intricate role in the community's overall volunteer spirit.
Radio auctions and various sporting events have helped raise awareness and funds for a number of community projects over the years. A few examples of our involvement in helping people help others include the Dr Margaret Savage Crisis Centre, a number of local playgrounds, and the Lakeland Humane Society, among dozens of other benefactors.
The Lakeland United Way has also formed close bonds with the military community at CFB Cold Lake, as well as numerous other groups and organizations in the hopes of building a better future for the community.
The Board of Directors appreciates its volunteers' countless hours and the support from the businesses, and continuously recognize those who have helped make the succes of the Lakeland United Way a reality.
